Mission
The
Duluth Area Catholic School System exists to advance the religious education,
formation, and service ministries of the Catholic Church and to develop the
full potential of all students by ensuring that Catholic school education is
viable, justly available, and equitably supported by Duluth-area parishes and
the broader Catholic community.
Values
Catholic Identity- We believe
our Catholic schools are an expression of the Church's mission, and we are
committed to an educational environment that is faithful to Church teachings
and rich in the cherished traditions and liturgical practices of our faith.
Quality Catholic Education-We are
committed to providing an academically rigorous and doctrinally sound program
of education and faith formation, where faith and knowledge are intertwined in
all areas of school life.
Student Success-We support
parents as the primary educators of their children and collaborate with them in
forming young people who are equipped to live moral, upright, and successful
lives through Christian discipleship, serving as role models and active participants
in our Church and nation.
Accessibility-We strive to
make our Catholic schools available, accessible, and affordable to all Catholic
parents and their children, as well as to others who desire a Catholic school
education.
School Advancement-We call on
the entire Catholic community to share in the financial responsibility for
Catholic education as an integral part of the Church's mission, thus enabling
our schools to expand enrollment and educational opportunities through
continued emphasis on: quality programs, highly qualified and professional
teachers and staff, well maintained facilities, and long-term sustainability.
