Duluth Area Catholic School Board Approves

2011-2016 Strategic Plan

The Duluth Area Catholic School Board has approved a 2011-2016 strategic plan to guide Duluth Area Catholic Schools over the next five years of growth and development. The document establishes a new vision for the school system, along with strategic goals, objectives, and detailed implementation steps to achieve it. Bishop Paul Sirba, a strong advocate of Catholic school education, has reviewed and accepted the strategic plan.

The comprehensive strategic planning process began in August 2010. It was led by co-chairs James Cherveny and Cynthia Zook with an ad hoc strategic planning committee comprised of school board representatives, all five school principals, and pastors of several churches in the Duluth area. Prior to submission to the bishop, the strategic planning recommendations were reviewed and prioritized by area pastors, along with faculty and leadership groups at the five schools.
